The first match kicks off on Thursday. China's team is not in it, but football fans here will no doubt be watching. So how will they enjoy the games? What creature comforts will fans need to celebrate this hot football season? CGTN hit the streets to find out.

Q1: Necessities when you watch the games?

DA JIALE RESIDENT "Usually I like to go to a BBQ bar or a football themed bar with my buddies to watch the game. And then sometimes we like to go to the games themselves."

LI QINXUE RESIDENT "You have to enjoy the games with a beer! For food, I'll have some popcorn, maybe peanuts, and something else like Chinese marinated food."

CHRIS MAX BUSINESSMAN FROM US "In general, I just like go out, maybe have some good food have some beers, and spend time with my friends, and I think beer's one of the things I generally need to have."

Q2: Where will you prefer to watch the games?

DA JIALE RESIDENT "Because it's summer now, I'm gonna go to the bar to have a drink, hang out and watch the games with my best buddies."

LI QINXUE RESIDENT "I like to go to public places, such as bars, because girls don't understand the game very much, and people who watch games in the bars are usually rooting for a certain team, so I can choose a team to help me fit in in the bar atmosphere better."

DANNY HONDA BUSINESSMAN FROM US "It usually depends on what time, the match is being played, for example, the last world cup, part of matches like 3 AM, so I just stayed at home, I'm not adventure enough to go out at 3 AM, but if it's in normal time, and I definitely want to go to a bar because the atmosphere is crazy."
