M6.8 earthquake hits Tonga

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Tonga at 0900 GMT, according to the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers.

No tsunami warning was issued and no casualties have been reported.
