The second ministerial meeting for China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Forum opened Monday in the Chilean city of Santiago. China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi headed a delegation at the meeting.
The ministerial meeting is mainly held to discuss ways to improve cooperation between the two sides. Among other topics, boosting cooperation within the framework of China's Belt and Road Initiative is likely to be discussed.
It is the first major event in the relations between China and Latin American countries after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China held last October.
