Stephanie Ye is a well-known astro-photographer from Beijing.
Her passion for photographing the stars started in 2009 when she went to Shanghai to witness the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st Century.
But her plans were disrupted when a sudden rainfall put paid to her photography plans.

In November 2013, Ye flew from Beijing to Kenya to watch the eclipse, but again the important moment was ruined by clouds. The weather may not have been on her side again, but she did manage to capture some breath-taking starscapes from North Africa.
Two years later and fortune was finally on her side. In 2015, Ye not only saw the unique solar eclipse in the North Pole, but was also lucky enough to photograph the spectacular polar lights.
For the 2017 solar eclipse, Ye arrived in the US two weeks ahead of the big moment. Together with her friends, she drove along the path of totality for days looking for the best spot and finally selected Idaho Falls after taking the weather into consideration.
And she managed to score another major success.
