Pyongyang has rejected suggestions that sanctions forced it to the negotiating table with South Korea and the United States. The commentary from the state-run KCNA news agency comes amid the easing of tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Seoul has proposed talks with Pyongyang next week to discuss details of the upcoming summit between their two leaders. DPRK leader Kim Jong Un may also meet with US President Donald Trump by the end of May.
