The Jiangsu Center for the Performing Arts in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing has turned on all of its LED lights at night. /VCG Photo

The center looks like a giant butterfly when it is seen from above. It is said that the design of the center was inspired by water drops due to its location off the bank of the Yangtze River and Nanjing’s famous links with water. Patterns of lotus flowers were also seen reflected on the drops. /VCG Photo

The four water drops consist of a concert hall, a musical hall, a drama hall and a hall for variety shows, according to the center's official website. /VCG Photo
