China has eliminated tariffs on all imported cancer drugs.
It includes taxes on essential treatments for breast cancer and leukemia. A three-to-six percent tariff had been levied on these drugs. It is estimated this exemption, along with several other policies, could reduce the drugs' price by up to 20 percent. The National Health Commission says 6-billion yuan has been cut from cancer patients' bills in the past two years.
