The love between this 100-year-old American couple would be envied by any couple in the world and is moving netizens to tears with their 80 years' worth of “I love you.”
Arthur Jacobs, aged 105, and his wife Marcia, 100 years old, from New York are celebrating their 80th wedding anniversary. Their grandson, Gabe Jacobs recorded a video of this touching moment on the eve of the couple’s anniversary.
In the nearly two-minute video, the two hold hands and exchange loving looks. Arthur gently speaks to Marcia: “I love you. I’ve loved you 80 years. That’s a long time. I miss you all the time.” Marcia who is unable to communicate gives her response by kissing Arthur’s hand.
Since the video spread on Wednesday, netizens have sent their best wishes to the couple.
“Beautiful! God bless them both,” @Lorraine Cacioppo-Quinones wished on Facebook.
“Do not envy couples at street corners but envy couples who have been together for years. People might forget some things but they do not forget to think of each other. This is love,” a Chinese Weibo user with the screen name of @Chenqiuyu commented.
“‘I’ve loved you for 80 years.’ A beautiful sentence,” said @Yuechangdemingziyuehaoting.
Gabe wrote in the description of the video: “Arthur is a beautiful man and so incredibly in love with Marcia. You can tell how sad he is that she can no longer communicate. Proud to have descended from these superhumans.”
