China-Japan Ties: Chinese premier says his visit is to get ties back on track

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have held a joint press conference after meeting for bilateral talks in Tokyo. Premier Li said China and Japan will work to make sure their ties are healthy and stable.
LI KEQIANG CHINESE PREMIER "Recently, relations between China and Japan have improved and have stabilized. My visit to Japan is to get bilateral ties back to normal, and make sure relations continue to be healthy and stable."
The two leaders witnessed a signing of deals. A welcoming ceremony was held for Premier Li, who observed an honor guard with Prime Minister Abe, before their talks began. His official visit follows a meeting earlier in the day with Abe and South Korean President Moon Jae-in. The three leaders discussed issues including trade and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Moon said the trilateral mechanism is the cornerstone for regional peace and prosperity.
