The group killed dozens in a mosque attack over the weekend and launched several attacks across the northeast.
The weekend attack is by far the worst this year.
And a recent map released by US agency for developments shows-the group controls as much as 100 square miles with a functional administrative structures in the northeast.
The meeting is a follow up UN security council resolution that tasked regional leaders in the Chad Basin to address the route causes of the insurgency.
11 governors from most affected states in the Chad Basin will also be attending along side development partners.
Boko Haram started off from Maiduguri as group fighting to establish an Islamic caliphate in Nigeria but over the years, the group exported its bloody campaign across the Chad Basin.
The insurgents are blamed for killing tens of thousands and displacing millions in Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger. Kelechi Emekalam, CGTN, ABUJA, NIGERIA."
