Belt and Road Media Community: 2019 summit forum held in Beijing, council established

Media organizations from Belt and Road countries are growing closer - and promising more coverage of the massive initiative. CGTN's Sun Ye explains.
Belt and Road Media Community members say more award-winning programs, documentaries, and reports about the Belt and Road countries are on the way. They made the announcement during their 2019 summit forum in Beijing.
WANG XIAOHUI DEPUTY HEAD, PUBLICITY DEPARTMENT OF CPC CENTRAL COMMITTEE "The Belt and Road media community will help enhance people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding for B&R countries. We will be seeing even more enticing stories, and better ties and convergence."
A governing council of 29 media and production outlets was established at the summit, headed by the President of China Media Group.
SHEN HAIXIONG PRESIDENT, CHINA MEDIA GROUP "Over the past three years, we've seen concrete results coming out of our international cooperation across the board. China Media Group, and the Belt and Road Media Community hope to engage more people and create a bright future for global media."
The council will work to promote cooperation in various areas including news production and media industry alignment.

The Belt and Road Media Community is the world's first coalition aiming to promote media ties for Belt and Road countries. Its members include 130 institutions from 58 countries and regions. SY,CGTN.
