The number of homes destroyed by Hawaii's Kilauea volcano jumped to 26 on Sunday, as lava spewed more than 60 meters into the air from cracks in the ground. Officials said another four buildings were also covered by lava. The American Red Cross reported about 240 people and 90 pets spent Saturday night at shelters.
A British cabinet minister said Sunday that the UK is weeks away from making a decision on its future customs arrangements with the European Union. Business Minister Greg Clark said a customs partnership with the bloc is still on the table, and they are also working on another high-tech option.
Tunisia's Islamist En-nah-da party claimed victory on Sunday in the country's first free municipal elections. The party and its coalition partner dominated the long-delayed polls. Officials are being elected in 350 municipalities for the first time since a 2011 uprising ended decades of authoritarian rule.
