China Intelligent Vehicle Championship (CIVC) was held on Thursday in Shanghai to test the levels of automation and safety systems of driverless vehicles developed by 50 teams of competitors from universities and research institutes from across China. The organizers held a racing contest for the vehicles on tracks designed for Formula One racing in order to test their driving speed and stability.
