At least 11 killed in road accident in east China

At least 11 people were killed and 20 others injured after an overloaded passenger vehicle skidded off the road at around 10:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday in east China’s Jiangxi Province, authorities said.
The 19-seater vehicle, which was carrying 31 people, slipped off the road at a downhill turn and plunged into a 10-meter-deep ditch while traveling from Ruijin City to Ruilin Village.
Nine passengers were killed at the scene and two died from their injuries in the hospital.
Five people, including the legal representative of the vehicle’s company, have been detained.
