The third annual world nuclear exhibition kicked off Tuesday in Paris. 15 energy companies from China are there to promote self-developed technologies and seek potential overseas buyers.
Of the 15 countries to set up national exhibition booths at this year's WNE, the biggest one-- at 400-square-meters-- is China.
GERARD KOTTMANN AIFEN PRESIDENT "China's nuclear industry is in good shape and is ready to export. This time the Chinese team expanded their presence, because they need to show more potential buyers the true value of their mature nuclear projects on a global platform."
China's major nuclear companies, including National Nuclear Corp, General Nuclear Power Corp and State Nuclear Power Technology Corp are all here to demonstrate the CAP1400 units, country's first self-developed digitalized nuclear reactor.
LONG MAOXIONG, DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL CHINA NUCLEAR ENERGY ASSOCIATION "Another core project we brought here is Hualong One, China's pressurized water nuclear reactor design."
Hualong One is already going global. China General Nuclear Power Corp signed a deal in 2015 to invest in three nuclear power projects in the UK, with Bradwell B nuclear power plant being one of them designed to use Hualong One.
ZHENG DONGSHAN, CEO GENERAL NUCLEAR INTERNATIONAL "The cooperation with UK is going rather smoothly. The authorities there started general design assessment on Hualong One, which will be adopted by Bradwell. And we are doing practical research in advance."
Aside from core reactor technologies, small to mid-sized companies will also be showing Chinese-designed support facilities, such as pumps, field systems and other components. The exhibition concludes Thursday.
