And as the countdown for the upcoming FIFA World Cup has already begun, Brazilian star Neymar is racing against time to be back in action for the biggest event in football. The world's most expensive player is now recovering from surgery on his right foot.
The Brazilian national team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar has confirmed that the surgery was successful and that Neymar will be discharged from hospital on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil forward suffered a metatarsal fracture on February 25th in a French Ligue-1 game against Marseille.
He also suffered a less serious ankle injury but Lasmar said that another examination would be made in six weeks and prior to that, he cannot provide a timetable concerning the player's return to action.
The 2018 World Cup begins on June 14th in Russia - and Brazil are scheduled to play their first group game against Switzerland three days later.
The loss of their star player Neymar would obviously be a big blow to one of the tournament favourites.
