Chinese President Xi Jinping met with South Korea's presidential envoy, Chung Eui-yong, on Monday in Beijing.

Xi said China is glad to see positive steps being made, and repeated his goal of seeing a denuclearized Peninsula. He added that the current situation is an opportune moment to allow dialogue with all sides. China has been encouraging every one to work toward denuclearization while establishing a peace mechanism into the dialogue -- it termed a "two-track mindset". US President Donald Trump has agreed to meet with DPRK Leader Kim Jong Un, possibly before the end of May.
