2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics: China's short track team returns home from South Korea
[]
We begin in this country, as the Chinese delegation is starting to return home following their participation at the Pyeongchang Olympics. Among those back on home soil -- the short track speed skating squad, who were given a nice ovation as they touched down in Beijing.
The cross-country and figure skating teams also made their way back on home soil, but the loudest cheers from the gathered crowd was for the Chinese short track speed skaters, which included Wu Dajing. The 23-year-old won China's only gold of the Games, claiming the title and setting two world records in capturing the 500-metres. Despite wearing a black mask, he was still recognized by the fans. Overall, China picked up 9 medals, Wu's 1 gold, plus six silvers and two bronze. And with the Winter Games now over, the focus is on the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
