A Russian Su-24 frontline bomber crashed while preparing for takeoff from Russia's Hmeimim base in Syria on Tuesday, killing the crew, Ria News Agency reported citing Russia’s Ministry of Defense.
"The Su-24 plane rolled off the runway and broke up while accelerating for takeoff... The plane's crew did not have time to eject and died," the military spokesman said.
Warplanes of this type carry a crew of two pilots.
