Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou briefed the press after Modi's departure. CGTN's Su Yuting has more.
SU YUTING CGTN REPORTER "President Xi Jinping and India Prime Minister Modi have already had more than ten meetings on bilateral and multilateral occasions. The informal Summit in Wuhan is their 12th meeting since 2014. During a press conference in Wuhan after Modi's flight took off, Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou said the length and scope of their conversation have surpassed their previous discussions."
KONG XUANYOU VICE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS "The two sides agreed to upgrade and integrate the existing inter-governmental mechanisms for closer strategic communication. The military and security communication mechanism should effectively enhance mutual trust between the two sides. We will also launch negotiations, at an early date, on regional trade arrangements and on a bilateral investment agreement to enhance practical cooperation on trade and other areas. The two sides will also set up a high-level people-to-people exchange mechanism. We will also continue to work hard to seek a fair and mutually acceptable settlement to border boundary issues."
