South Korea’s coast guard said it had rescued all 163 passengers and crew on a ferry that hit a large rock in waters off the country’s southwestern coast on Sunday, Yonhap news agency reported.
At least six people sustained minor injuries.
The Coast Guard revised the number of people on board to 163 – 158 passengers and five crew – instead of the 192 – 187 passengers and five crew – it had reported earlier.
The liner ran aground near Shinan County, 400 km south of Seoul, at around 3:47 p.m. local time, officials said.
The Coast Guard said that the ship crashed into rocks as it tried to avoid colliding with a fishing boat while moving through dense fog.
