Turkish Economy: President Erdogan promotes lira savings

Turkey's currency has fallen about 20 percent so far this year. President Tayyip Erdogan called on Turks to support the currency by converting their dollar and euro savings into lira. The president spoke during a campaign rally Saturday in the eastern city of Erzurum. Take a listen.
TAYYIP ERDOGAN TURKISH PRESIDENT "We are aware of the game that is being played and we are fighting it with the tools we have in hand. Being a resident and national of Turkey means you have to first protect your own currency. Here is my request from my people -- do not believe in rumors and protect your own currency."
TAYYIP ERDOGAN TURKISH PRESIDENT "My brothers who have dollars or euros under their pillow. Go and convert your money into lira. We will thwart this game together."
