Many are wondering as how the two leaders who previously engaged in a war of words and harsh rhetoric, managed to look so composed at their first meeting. Chuck Tinte takes a closer look at their body language, and at their historic handshakes.

Old enemies, finally face to face.

The whole world awaited their first handshake.

Trump was the first to extend his hand.

What soon followed was a moment that lasted for more than 10 seconds.

It's not been easy to get to this point -- those were the words of Kim Jong Un.

Agreeing with his counterpart, Trump reached out for a second handshake.

After signing a document, the two leaders seemed light-hearted.

And as Trump made clear, the two countries' relations are now much different.

In his words, "A very special bond".

Once again a handshake, but this time, with a bigger smile.

With their signed document in hand, the two leaders seem to have accomplished what they set out to do.

Trump pulled Kim closer to him.

With this palm-in-palm moment even stronger by the look of it.

Before the end of their first encounter, Kim, for the first time, reached out for Trump.

Trump said they have learned about each other and will definitely meet again.

Is this truly the beginning of a new friendship?
