‍It's show time for the creme de la creme of Chinese fashion designers as the 20th China Fashion Week got underway at the weekend at Beijing Hotel's Golden Hall.
Opening this year's event was one of China’s fastest-growing fashion houses - NE Tiger - with a collection inspired by the ancient Silk Road.
The collection took the audiences along the ancient Silk Road by recreating the unique rock formations of northwest China and the iconic Mogao Caves on the runway.
The collection featured floor-length silk and chiffon gowns in red, cyan, and golden yellow, typical hues from the frescoes in the grottoes.

Lotus patterns and honeysuckle flower designs add an exotic feel to the creations, while exquisite embroideries and lace details highlight the couture craftsmanship behind the pieces.
Male fashion lovers were not forgotten either, with the collection's menswear offering also being showcased.
"This collection is inspired by the Silk Road, especially by the elements in Dunhuang (in northwestern Gansu Province). It's a place where East meets West, a place where different religions gather together and where people communicate and exchange ideas. It develops an inclusive culture. And you can see these elements in my designs," said Zhang Zhifeng, founder and artistic director of NE Tiger.

China Fashion Week was established in 1997 and is held twice a year in Beijing.
As a regular participant in the event, Zhang Zhifeng says it has played a pivotal role in developing the country's rapidly growing fashion scene over past 20 years.
"China Fashion Week brings international concepts to local designers and provides an irreplaceable platform for local designers, especially independent designers. And it has fostered a generation of designers who have made their names known to the world," said Zhang Zhifeng.
This year's Fashion Week features 89 runway shows and three professional contests. Brands by independent designers will be showcased in 751D Park, while more established brands will be on show at the Beijing Hotel.
There will also be fashion forums and themed exhibitions. A series of commemorative events to mark the week's 20th anniversary will also be held.
The closing and China Fashion Award ceremonies take place on November 7.
