Russia, Turkey and Iran have put on a united front as their foreign ministers met to discuss the ongoing peace process in Syria. During the trilateral meeting in Moscow, they condemned any military action in the region - calling it illegal and unsustainable. Jessica King has more.
JESSICA KING MOSCOW "The Russian, Turkish and Iranian foreign ministers said they wanted to carry on working together to help the Syrian people. They have firmly stated their commitment to the Astana process - their joint peace programme which they established last year. It comes after concerns that the relationship between these three countries was under strain. They had different opinions on the missile strikes on Syria conducted by the US, France and Great Britain - with Russia and Iran condemning the action, and Turkey saying it was 'appropriate'. But there were no signs of strain - only a joint commitment to rid the Syrian region of terrorists - and to condemn any further military action."
SERGEI LAVROV RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER "I am sure it's necessary to help Syria to clear the country of terrorists, and we are all helping the Syrian government to make this happen faster."
JESSICA KING MOSCOW "During the trilateral talks the foreign ministers called on the UN to support the Astana process - primarily working on de-escalation zones, humanitarian support and more political dialogue. They will all meet again next month to continue the talks. Jessica King, CGTN, Moscow."
