Calls for Cooperation: Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan wraps up Israel-Palestine visit

Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan has wrapped up a four-day visit to Israel and Palestine. He attended several high-level meetings and watched the signing of several agreements, including on free trade. Wang also called for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict and to maintain peace in the Middle East. CGTN's Stephanie Freid has the report. 
China's vice president Wang Qishan is the highest level Chinese official to visit Israel and Palestine in a decade.
Traveling with a team of ministers and officials from more than a dozen different ministries, he visited places, historical landmarks and memorial sites.
And signed agreements with Israel on joint cooperation in science, tech, agriculture, health and innovation - bolstering current 13-billion annual bilateral trade figures.

In Ramallah he signed a free trade agreement MOU with Palestine where annual bilateral trade figures hover around the 70 million dollar.
Palestine's prime minister Rami Hamdallah urged China to take an active role in the stagnant Israeli Palestinian peace process - Vice President Qishan told Hamdallah China supports a Palestinian state.
Wrapping up his 4-day visit, China's vice president inaugurated a Tel Aviv tech innovation center alongside Israel's prime minister Thursday.
