Peru and Ecuador clash over border wall

Border walls have been stirring international debate in the last two years, with US President Donald Trump declaring his intent to build one between the United States and Mexico.
But another wall in Latin America is also drawing debate.
In March of 2017, Ecuador began the construction of an 800-meter-long concrete barrier along part of its border with Peru.
It is four meters high and stands between the towns of Huaquillas, Equador to the south, and Aguas Verdes, Peru to the north.
Ecuador claims the wall is part of an urban renewal project, to include a lineal park, while Peru says it violates a peace agreement reached by the two countries after their 1995 armed conflict.
And even though Ecuador has halted construction, controversy still abounds.
