Oscar Pistorius has seemingly kept a low profile since he was handed a lengthy prison sentence for murdering his girlfriend, but the former Paralympic champion was injured during a prison fight over the use of a public phone in South Africa on December 6.
“Oscar Pistorius sustained a bruise following an alleged incident with another inmate over the use of a public phone in the special care unit where both offenders are detained at Attridgeville correctional center,” the spokesman, Singabakho Nxumalo, said.

Pistorius was originally sentenced to six years in prison in July 2016, but the sentence was increased to 13 years after an appeals court ruled that the original sentence was too lenient.
Pistorius shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp through a bathroom door on Valentine's Day in 2013, later saying he had mistaken her for an intruder.
Thirty-one-year-old Pistorius is a former South African sprint runner. Both of Pistorius's legs were amputated below the knee when he was 11 months old.
He was the 10th athlete to compete at both the Paralympic Games and Olympic Games, competing in sprint events for below-knee amputees in Paralympic events, and in non-disabled sprint events.
Pistorius has won a total of six Summer Paralympics gold medals in his career.
