US Arms Sales to Taiwan: China urges US to abide by one-China policy

China's stance of resolutely opposing US arms sales to Taiwan has been always clear and consistent. That was reiterated by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
MA XIAOGUANG SPOKESPERSON, TAIWAN AFFAIRS OFFICE OF THE STATE COUNCIL"China opposes any form of official and military contact between Taiwan and the United States. China opposes the US selling weapons to Taiwan, and that stance has always been clear and consistent. The US should abide by the one-China policy and the principles of the three Sino-US Joint Communiques. All attempts to separate China are useless. It will harm both the common interests of our cross-straits compatriots and overall interests of the Chinese nation. It could also harm their own interests if they play too hard."
This is after the US had approved a license for selling military submarine technology to Taiwan. Spokesperson Ma also said Taiwan affairs are highly related to China's sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and China will take all necessary measures to protect it.
