The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will convene in Beijing on October 18, 2017. It will elect the CPC’s leadership for the next five years and set a course for the future of the Party and the country. The CPC is the biggest player in Chinese politics, but it is far from the only party. In fact, eight other parties also contribute to shaping the country’s direction.
