Zhang Shuai began the year in emphatic style with a victory in January over US Open Champion Sloane Stevens in the first round of the Australian Open. But more recently the Chinese has had difficulties on clay courts, losing at the Prague Open semi-finals earlier this month and getting knocked out of the Madrid Open, also on clay, in the second round, although she's still in the doubles competition. Zhang spoke to Al Goodman about the challenge of clay and about her great start to the year.
