Mainland is a powerhouse
The Chinese mainland contributed 74 celebrities in the list, more than double the Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan region, which was 32.
The Chinese mainland continued to show its strong ability to make stars, Forbes China said.
The younger generation is also on the rise. Under-30 celebrities are counting for almost 1/3 of the total number. New incomers like Wu Lei, Liu Haoran and Guan Xiaotong – all of which are actors – are not even in their 20s.
More and more young celebrities are emerging and they are very well received by the fans, according to Forbes China.
Another notable thing on the rise is the revenue. The average income of the stars listed this year stands at 90 million yuan.
A total of 30 celebrities crossed the 100-million-yuan mark.
The rising fees for commercials, TV dramas and variety shows are the main reason behind the booming revenues.
