South Korea says it will hold talks with the DPRK next week to discuss Pyongyang's participation in the Winter Paralympics. It has also approved an upcoming visit by a sanctioned DPRK official in the pursuit of peace.
Kim Yong Chol, vice chairman of the DPRK's Workers' Party's Central Committee, will be in PyeongChang to lead a delegation at the Olympics' closing ceremony on Sunday. This coincides with the visit by Ivanka Trump, daughter of US President Donald Trump. Ivanka has arrived in South Korea, to meet President Moon Jae-in and to lead the US delegation at the closing ceremony. Seoul said there are no official opportunities for US and DPRK officials to meet.
