TechCrunch's Disrupt Europe conference included new transportation concepts. The Moia electric van claims to be the world's first vehicle designed specifically for ride sharing.
Moia is a one-year-old sub-brand of Volkswagen, one of the world's largest car companies. The battery-powered van will seat six passengers and rides will be booked using an app. The company is planning to start testing the service next year in Hamburg.
Another concept displayed at the conference was the Stark electric skateboard, and the innovation is in how the board is controlled. The Stark electric skateboard has a top speed of 32 km/h and a range of 19 kilometers per charge.
Rubbee's clip-on electric engine, which can turn any bike into an e-bike, was also shown at the conference. The little electric engine simply attaches to the back of a bike and a small motor-powered rubber train drives the bike wheel forward. The TechCrunch Disrupt conference runs until December 5.
