Egypt Spring Festival Fair: Chinese event debuts in Sharm el-Sheikh

Egypt's 2018 Spring Festival Temple Fair is underway in Sharm el-Sheikh. This is the first time the event is being held in the Egyptian resort city, dubbed the "tourist's paradise", after being hosted in Cairo over the last eight years.
More than 2,000 people watched the Chinese art performances on display at the festival. Performances included folk dances, Chinese opera acts, Chinese Taiji, among others.
The event is co-sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, and the Egyptian government of South Sinai province.
Organizers hope not only to cement the strong relations between China and Egypt, but also help promote Egypt's Tourism sector which has taken a beating over security concerns.
