In recent years, more and more international artists and bands have been coming to perform in China. Here's a quick recap of some of them.
In April this year, American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars added Shanghai to his 24k Magic World Tour 2018. The tour celebrates Mars' latest chart-topping album, 24K Magic. It marks Mars' first full-length tour since 2013's hugely successful Moonshine Jungle World Tour. The 60th annual Grammy Awards also gave its highest accolades to Bruno Mars, who won all seven of the awards he was nominated for.
And once again good news for James Blunt fans! The one-and-only British heartthrob performed in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing this spring. The visit is part of the recording artist's Afterlove Tour, a global, multi-month whirlwind that spans four continents. While the circuit is primarily intended to promote the singer-songwriter's latest album, The Afterlove, which was released last year, fans in China can still hear plenty of their favorite classics. Blunt rose to worldwide fame in 2005, with hit singles You're Beautiful. His first China tour took place in 2008 in Beijing and Shanghai.
American pop-rock band OneRepublic also added Shenzhen to its world tour. The band is set to perform live on the 2nd of May at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center Arena. It performed live in Shanghai at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, with their new album "Oh My My" and many hit singles last year. OneRepublic made its debut in Shanghai in 2013. Known for the smash hit "Apologize", OneRepublic enjoys great popularity in China.
Meanwhile, in 2015, Linkin Park rocked China with his five-date The Hunting Party China Tour. The tour kicked off in Nanjing and was followed by dates in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Chongqing prior to the Beijing climax. With more extensive touring in the future, many foreign bands look forward to bringing more new music to Chinese fans.
