The Jamaican men’s bobsleigh team made an Olympic breakthrough at the 1988 Games in Calgary. Their story inspired the movie "Cool Runnings."
Thirty years after that incredible achievement, Jamaica's female bobsled team finally qualified for this year's PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games – the first time in history that a Jamaican women's team could compete at the Winter Olympics. The women’s team is staffed by the pilot Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian, brakewoman Carrie Russell and Audra Segree.

The 32-year-old Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian, who represented the United States at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games as a push-athlete, switched to compete for her father's native country of Jamaica from 2016. She said the team is extremely honored to be a part of making history.
"We all have different personalities, but when we come to put into work, we put everything aside, [to] get the job done. We trust each other, that is a major part of being brakeman of bobsled,” said Audra Segree, who has been selected as a brakeman in the team.
