In 2000, he saw photos of swords in a magazine, that generated his interest in the craft. He was working as a photographer but started learning sword-making in the spare time. /VCG Photo
As his passion grew, he resigned from his job in 2007 to adopt a sword-making career. /VCG Photo
It did not go well in the beginning as he spent all his saving to buy material and rent an iron shop. /VCG Photo
Huang finally made a satisfactory sword two years later and set up his studio in a bid to improve the design by combining the culture of Zhuang people. /VCG Photo
He said he hoped more people could know the culture of traditional Chinese sword making through his effort. /VCG Photo
