Councillors in Paris have decided against renewing “fairground king” Marcel Campion’s license for the Grande Roue Ferris wheel. The wheel, which has sat intermittently on the Place de la Concorde since 1993, will close in July next year. Councillors said removing the wheel would protect the area’s “historic visual appeal”.
