Teacher arrested following Beijing kindergarten child abuse claim

A female teacher has been formally arrested following a child abuse claim at a kindergarten in Beijing’s Chaoyang district in November, Beijing police said on Friday.

The 22-year-old, with surname Liu, had previously been detained by police last month on suspicion of child abuse.

The private nursery RYB Education New World Kindergarten was accused of piercing children with needles in a case that has sparked anger around the country.
