TPP 11: Revised trade pact CPTPP released Wednesday
[]
The remaining 11 member nations of Trans-Pacific Partnership on Wednesday released the final revised trade pact.
That signals the pact was one step closer to reality even without the US. The final pact called the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership suspended or changed more than 20 provisions, including rules concerning intellectual property rights at the behest of the US. The CPTPP is finalised in January and is expected to be signed in Chile on March 8. The deal is expected to take effect at the end of 2018 or the first half of 2019. The deal will reduce tariffs in economies that together account for 13 percent of global GDP.
