Two days after Chinese President Xi Jinping made a keynote speech on China's determination to continue opening up and implementing reforms, he inspected the People's Liberation Army Navy in the South China Sea. It was the largest maritime parade in China since the founding of the people's republic in 1949. The navy displayed its latest equipment and strength with unprecedented transparency. The parade sent out a clearest messages to the outside world that China is determined to build a world-class navy.
