The White House has confirmed that a leading Chinese official will visit the United States next week for more trade talks. It comes after a high-level delegation from the US visited Beijing last month. The Chinese foreign ministry said it welcomed Washington's willingness to find a solution to their current stand-off on trade.
GENG SHUANG, SPOKESPERSON CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY "We have noted the White House's statement that the US is willing to make a consensus with China on trade is a positive sign. It's in the interests of both sides and the world to resolve our differences, deal with friction through consultation, and maintain the healthy and stable development of China-US trade relations."
