Merida city on the YucaTan peninsula of Mexico, is famous for being the center of Mayan culture. And it's now playing host to a touring exhibition about Sichuan's San'xingdui culture, an ancient culture from China. Take a look.
When two ancient civilizations meet, this exhibition from China features relics from Jinsha and Sanxingdui, two archeological sites in southwest China's Sichuan province representing the ancient Shu culture.
The relics date as far back as four to five thousand years ago -- that's roughly the time Mayan culture originated. Using pictures, videos, AR and VR technology, the exhibition tells of the discovery and excavation of the items unearthed at the sites.
It also provides comparisons of the two ancient civilizations.
