The Foreign Ministry briefed the media on Friday about US President Donald Trump's upcoming visit to China.
Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang said China is optimistic about the future development of ties with the US and is willing to work with Washington to address differences and promote cooperation.
Trump's visit is not only expected to enhance the healthy and stable development of bilateral ties, but also has far-reaching significance in boosting prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region, Zheng said.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has maintained close contact with Trump since he took office through telephone conversations and face-to-face talks, Zheng explained, adding that the two leaders have jointly made several achievements following talks at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Hamburg.
Xi and Trump are expected to exchange ideas on various issues and implement the outcomes from their previous two rounds of talks, the vice foreign minister said.

The DPRK nuclear issue will undoubtedly be on the agenda during talks in Beijing, while trade and economic cooperation will likely be another top priority.
It has been reported that representatives from around 40 companies are expected to accompany Trump on his first presidential trade mission to China.
Zheng said there will be numerous cooperation opportunities for the US business sector in the field of energy.
He added that promoting relations between China and the US serves the common interests of both countries and has global implications.
