Xi calls on NGOs along Silk Road to enhance cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Tuesday that non-governmental organizations (NGO) along the Silk Road should contribute to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between different countries, promote common development and build a community of shared future for mankind.
He made the remarks in a letter to the first Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network Forum, which started in Beijing on Tuesday.
The network was launched on May 14, 2017 and includes more than 160 Chinese and foreign NGOs.
The principles of the group are openness and inclusiveness, mutual respect, mutual learning and mutual benefit.
