We race back to the Chinese Capital, for the city's International Running Festival - also named Beijing Run. The event is part of the country's initiative to get citizens more active. Later this month, on April 15th, about 20-thousand competitors will take to the streets to take part in the race.
This running event dates back 62 years, and recently was expanded to a half marathon in 2016. Before that it was just a five or ten kilometre run. Last year it was awarded the 2017 Gold Race of Chinese Athletic Association. The course, takes runners through some of Beijing's historic areas, and starts at Tian'anmen Square, and ends at the Olympic park, it's there that a family run takes place, where kids and their parents can proceed on a one-kilometre route.
