One female Chinese national was killed and another male Chinese national was injured in a dorm slashing in Japan on Monday night, local newspaper Asahi Shimbun reported.
Chop wounds were founded on the victims' upper bodies, police were quoted as saying.
Police said a knife covered in blood was found at the scene, but there was no sign of intrusion.
The incident took place at 8:20 p.m. on Monday in the female's dorm room in Fuji city, Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture.
A roommate of the female victim called the police after she found her roommate dead.
The 35-year-old female reportedly moved to Japan last May, and was a friend to the man, who's receiving treatment in a hospital.
Local police are still investigating the incident and looking for a suspect.
In a statement made on Tuesday, the Chinese embassy in Japan expressed concerns over the case and urged the Japanese police to crack the case as soon as possible.
