South China Sea: China: US warship's operation harms country's sovereignty

China's Defense Ministry has accused the United States of seriously harming the country's sovereignty and security after a US Navy destroyer entered waters adjacent to Chinese waters.
The ministry said this was provocative behaviour by the US that will only push the Chinese military to strengthen its defense capabilities. The U.S. destroyer enter waters adjacent to China's territorial waters while carrying out an operation in the South China Sea on Friday. The US says the operation's aim was to protect "freedom of navigation".
