Asian Issues: What do everyday people think?
[]
Many issues will be raised during the Bo'ao Forum. Let's listen now to some of the concerns of people in various parts of Asia.
"Everyone in the world is concerned with plastic and the issue of trash. What we can do about it is recycling and training people's minds to understand what plastic does to our environment and trying to really reduce the use of plastics and try to use new materials, and that's happening. Slowly but surely, that's happening."
"We have issues on the refugees. We don't know what to do with them. They don't have enough education for their kids. They are not able to work properly. These are the main issue shared by all Asians."
"The other key issue that I would think is rather critical for Asia would be equality between the sexes. Women don't get equal opportunities. It's a great loss because they have great ideas, and they are very very capable human beings, who given that opportunity, would be a great asset to the country."
"The rising prices of our food, our basic necessities, the rising price of housing as well. Compared to my parents' time, they will need lesser finance to get a house. They always tell me to save up more to get a house in the future."
"Technological changes have brought a lot of improvement, but then with this change, our next generation may be facing problems in getting jobs, as most of the jobs is (are) taking away by robots and AI."
